Thrift Flip #1 ~ Maxi Dress turned Overalls!

Thrift Flip

One of my favorite things to do has always been thrifting for weird pieces and turning them into new projects. I used to do this quite often, but college & work got the best of me and I've been spending most of my "creative time" working on pieces to sell.

I've recently read a few books about creativity and the importance of creating "for fun," so I've decided to start embracing this a little bit more and bring some variety to my projects again.

I still want to share what I'm working on even when it's not directly related to products in my shop, so that's why I decided to start this little blog. Most posts will probably relate to my brand's message in some way (upcycling/repurposing), but I also might post about paintings and other unrelated creative projects!

With all that being said, here's my first project: a yellow maxi dress turned into a pair of overalls with denim accents!

This piece was pretty experimental, I just kinda started cutting and went for it. I debated making the pant legs cuffed with elastic (kinda like joggers), but my friend who's claiming them (also the wonderful model in this picture) liked them this way so I figured I might as well just call it a day and leave the pant legs how they are!

I don't have too much else to say about this piece so we'll leave it at that, here are some more pics! Thanks for reading!
